The Tolstoy family collection consists of one letter from Count Leo Tolstoy to Crosby dated February 12, 1905. It also includes material about his youngest daughter Alexandra including her correspondence with Jane Addams from 1930-1933, a lecture flyer, and three newspaper clippings. These items chronicle the poverty of Alexandra in exile first in Japan and later in the United States and the efforts of Jane Addams on her behalf, which included sending her money and referring her to lecture tour and publication connections.
